      • Our French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses are intended for everybody whether you are a student at Sorbonne Université, a student from an other University, a PhD student, a professional, a job seeker, anybody who is looking for a course to improve their knowledge of the French language.

      • We offer a wide choice of French language courses, among which culture and civilisation courses but also creative writing, methodology of academic exercises, grammar, from A1 (beginner) to C1 (advanced) level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)).

      • Our courses are taught by Sorbonne Université professors who are certified to deliver official marks which is why students can get ECTS credits when taking our courses.

  • 1. INTENSIVE COURSES



    (subtitles in English are available in video settings)

    • There are two intensive courses per academic year : the first one takes place in September and the second in January.

      The intensive course is a 2-week course and lasts 30 hours in total (3h/day).

      Several courses are available in different language levels (beginners to advanced).

      ⚠️ Enrolling in the intensive course does not mean that you are enrolling at Sorbonne Université. You won't be considered a student at Sorbonne Université and won't get a student visa.

    • Next intensive course:

      January 15th to 26th 2024

      Enrollment dates:

      from November 27th (from 12 p.m.) to December 20th 2023 (5 p.m.)

  • 2. COURSES FOR REFUGEES OF THE WAR IN UKRAINE

    • The main condition to apply to this course is being / having been a student or professor at university in Ukraine in 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 or 2023-2024 (academic years).

      The course is 52 hours over 13 weeks from January to May 2024.

      The levels offered are : A2, B1 and B2.

      Please note that the number of places is very limited.

      Criteria to apply for the course:

      - To be a refugee fleeing the war in Ukraine.

      - To be of age (+18 years) and have completed secondary school.

      - To have been a student at university / a professor at university / a PhD student in Ukraine during the academic years 2021-2022 or 2022-2023 or 2023-2024.

      Upon registration, you will be asked to provide a document to prove your status (student card, employment contract etc.). The document must be translated into French OR English and uploaded on the registration form.


    • Next course : 

      January 29th to May 18th 2023.

      Enrollment dates : 

      January 8th (from 12 p.m.) to January 15th (at 9 a.m.) 2024.

  • 3. SEMESTER COURSES

    (sous-titres disponibles en Anglais dans les paramètres de la vidéo)

    • The semester courses last 13 weeks (2h to 4h/week of class) and have one or several graded evaluations.

      There are 3 possible modalities:  1. face-to face     2. remote access  3. hybrid +

      If you are not a student of the Faculty of Humanities (Faculté des Lettres) of Sorbonne University, a certificate of attendance (indicating your final grade) will be delivered to you at the end of the course. 

      ⚠️ Enrolling in the semester courses does not mean that you are enrolling at Sorbonne Université. You won't be considered a student at Sorbonne Université and won't get a student visa.

    • Next semester courses (S2 23/24) :

      From January 29th to May 18th 2023.

      Enrollment dates :

      From January 22nd (at 12 p.m.) to February 2nd 2024 (5 p.m.).

  • 4. UNIVERSITY DEGREE : DU FLE

    • The university degree ‘French as a Foreign Language - French for university purposes’,  B2 level of  CEFR

      The university degree ‘French as a Foreign Language - French for university purposes’ offers the possibility to certify level B2 of the CEFR in French. Acquiring this level is necessary for the pursuit of studies in French higher education.

      ⚠️ University Degree diploma is entirely remote therefore you cannot apply to student visa

    • The university degree ‘French as a Foreign Language - French for university purposes’,  C1 level of  CEFR (parcours Lettres, sciences humaines  et sociales OU parcours Sciences).

      The university degree ‘French as a Foreign Language - French for university purposes’ offers the possibility to certify level C1 of the CEFR in French. Acquiring this level is necessary for the pursuit of studies in French higher education.

      2 options are offered for this Degree  :
      – Sciences
      – Letters ans Humanities

      ⚠️ The DU is an online course which means that you cannot apply for a student visa if you enroll in this course.

  • 5. PREPARATION COURSES FOR FRENCH LANGUAGE TESTS (DELF-DALF, SELFEE)

    • In order to give you the necessary methodology and training to succeed in the exam, SIAL-FLE gives you the possibility to follow preparation courses for the SELFEE, DELF and DALF.

      ⚠️ Enrolling in the French language tests preparation course does not mean that you are enrolling at Sorbonne Université. You won't be considered a student at Sorbonne Université and won't get a student visa.
